Privacy & cookies

Short version: we keep what we need to make and post your nails, we email you only if you asked, and the one advertising cookie on this site waits for your yes. Updated 12 September 2026.

Who we are

JC Nailbox is a small studio in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, making hand-painted press-on nails. Questions about your data: hello@jcnailbox.com.

When you order

Checkout and payment run on Shopify. Your name, address, email and what you bought are kept there to make, post and support your order, and for our accounts (UK law asks us to keep sales records for six years). Card details never reach us — Shopify Payments handles them. We copy your order details into our own admin system so we can see who bought what and send the two service emails below.

Emails we send

Marketing emails go out from hello@jcnailbox.com through our own mailbox, not a third-party mailing service. Opens and clicks on those emails are counted so we can see what people find useful.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. It stores two small things in your browser: your cookie choice, and whether you have already seen the sign-up box. Neither identifies you.

With your consent we load the Meta Pixel (Facebook / Instagram). It sets an advertising cookie so we can see which of our posts and ads bring people here and show our sets to people like you. It loads only after you press Accept, and you can change your mind here:

Shopify's checkout pages have their own cookie notice and privacy policy.

Instagram

If you message @jc.nailbox for a voucher, ManyChat (our Instagram messaging tool) records your Instagram name, the email you give us and the code you were sent, so each code is handed out once. That email joins our news list only if the message asked for it and you agreed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or tell us to stop using it for marketing. Email hello@jcnailbox.com and we do it within a month, usually the same day. If we get it wrong you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
